Fuel: Betamax Ltd Chartered Two Vessels to Meet the Demand of the STC

No supply problems since the Red Eagle, tanker owned by the Mauritian company Betamax Shipping Ltd., is responsible for transportation of petroleum products on behalf of STC. 

Since the first crossing of the Red Eagle by the end of May 2011, everything goes according to the needs of the STC. However, Betamax Shipping Ltd has had to resort to three tankers to meet local demand. And two tankers docked at Oil Jetty at Port Louis in December. Both were chartered by the Mauritian company to meet the request of the STC. The last arrived in Mauritius in the last week of the year and left the harbor of Port-Louis on January 2. 

On the side of the STC, it is stated that the Red Eagle will not by itself provide all the volume of petroleum products consumed in Mauritius. It is expected that the tanker makes sixteen crossings over a year to supply a total of some 900 000 tonnes of petroleum products. Which is lower than for local consumption, which is barely one million tonnes. 

Under the direction of the STC, this problem is not a surprise. There is also a clause in the contract that deals with this against time. Betamax Shipping Ltd must support, to the extent possible, the total supply of tankers using additional if necessary. If necessary he will return to the STC to take care of transportation.
