The resigning and four other employees of the parastatal bodies had been banned from their duties to allegations of 'malpractices' in awarding a contract for cleaning up to Rs 47 million.
A chaired by Mr. Oozeer disciplinary committee had been set up to shed light on this matter. However, Shiv Nemchand left before this committee decides on the shadows on the award of the contract.
Meanwhile, the Independent Commission against Corruption (ICAC) is conducting an investigation into the allocation of the contract. The sleuths of the Corruption Investigation Division have already raided AML Ltd. to take possession of documents. Developments are expected shortly in this case.
