Emirates Moves Forward Second A380 to Mauritius

The Gulf airline had been scheduled to start flying a second superjumbo to the destination on December 1.

Now, the A380 service will operate as flights EK703/704 from October 26, when it will replace the B777 that currently operates the Dubai to Mauritius route.

Outbound service EK703 departs Dubai at 1000 and arrives at Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam International Airport at 1645. Return flight EK704 takes off from Mauritius at 2300 and lands in Dubai at 0540 the following day.

The superjumbo will seat 489 passengers with 14 first class suites, 76 seats in business and 399 in economy.

Orhan Abbas, Emirates senior vice-president, said: "We are delighted that we are able to bring forward the start date of the second A380 service to Mauritius.

"The fact that we are introducing this service to the island in October demonstrates that the popularity of our product is growing consistently. This second A380 will increase Emirates' capacity by 1890 seats per week."

The Emirates flights between Dubai and Mauritius are operated in codeshare with Air Mauritius.
