11th Edition of Chinatown Food and Cultural Festival

The artists who will be performing for the Festival are the Meizhou Folk Songs Cultural Troupe of Guangdong Province, China and Theatre Arts Troupe of Singapore at the conference. Two cooks from Meizhou will also be present.

Other Activities during the festival:

• 30th April - Gala Show at MGI Auditorium (on invitation)
• 2nd May – Opening ceremony of 11th edition of Chinatown Food and Cultural Festival at 15.00hours at Royal Street, Port Louis followed by cultural shows until 11.00pm
• 3rd May – Miss Chinatown Pageant at 15.00hours followed by cultural shows until 11.00pm

Shows will be at Chinatown Main stage and Heen Foh Hall. Participants for the cultural shows include:

• Local artists of wushu, taiji, dance, songs, dragon and lion dances
• Meizhou Folk Songs Cultural Troupe of Guangdong Province, China
• Theatre Arts Troupe of Singapore
• Karaoke corner
• School of Chinese Music
• Typhoon Band

On the food side:

• Typical chinese delicacies will be on sale at various points in Chinatown
• All chinese restaurants will be open
• two cooks from Meizhou will also be present and selling Hakka delicacies.
