Sayed-Hossen Invites Ugandans to Work in ‘Booming’ ICT Sector

The government has promised jobs to Ugandan professionals in the sector of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) as one of its initiatives for improving the partnership with Uganda.
A delegation of 27 companies from Mauritius was in Uganda this week to stage a two-day exhibition showcasing goods made in Mauritius and source business partnerships in Uganda.
Led by the minister of Industry, Commerce Consumer Protection Cader Sayed-Hossen, the national delegation, under the Enterprise Mauritius initiative, also seeks to expand its market to the Democratic Republic of Congo, Rwanda and Burundi.
Addressing a press conference with Ugandan trade minister Amelia Kyambadde at the Media Centre in Uganda, Sayed-Hossen, said that the government will give employment to Ugandan IT professionals in the booming IT sector of Mauritius.
He, however, could not put a number to the available opportunities, but promised to establish the exact figures to enable more Ugandans go for them.
“We have resolved to strengthen the partnership with Uganda as one of our key trading partners,” he said.
