Thon Of Mascareigns: Opening Factory In Gabon

The President of the Republic of Gabon and his delegation spent part of the afternoon yesterday to visit the Mascarene tuna factory and shipyard in the Indian Ocean in the group Ireland Blyth Ltd..

In a press statement after the two visits , Nicolas Maigrot , CEO of IBL said Thon Mascarene employs some 2000 people, 80% of women. "The Gabonese president was very interested in this activity, which is consistent with the emerging Gabon and wants to do the same thing with him ," he said.The visit of the President of Gabon in the two companies was an opportunity for local operators to show him the Mauritian expertise in the seafood industry and marine . "For IBL , this visit is the undisputed proof of the interest and recognition of expertise by the Gabonese government . Vertically integrated expertise in the seafood industry & marine . Despite its remoteness of tuna , IBL has developed a line of integrated services and engage the technological and human skills that allow him to create added value . Armed with this knowledge, IBL access today to a new phase of development -oriented partnerships at home and abroad . " Nicolas Maigrot also announced it has entered into a Public / Private Partnership agreement for re- running a fish processing factory in Libreville ( Gabon Seafood ) and , subsequently , to develop a tuna cannery - and its chain of control - and a shipyard .The rehabilitation of the plant Gabon Seafood are nearing completion , processing activities and will begin trading on November 15 , said Nicolas Maigrot .
Meeting Of Bongo Berenger
The Leader of the Opposition Paul Berenger has made a courtesy visit to the President of the Republic of Gabon, Ali Bongo, yesterday afternoon. The two men discussed the economic development in both countries. Mr. Berenger congratulated the Gabonese president for economic development initiated since coming to power in 2009. He also welcomed the plan for the fight against cancer launched by the Gabonese government.Before the Leader of the Opposition, President Bongo had been visited by the Acting Chief Justice Paul Lam Chan Leen.
