'Overpayment' of PRB: Reimbursement Imposed on Officials

This administrative error was detected, the heads of agencies were ordered to take the necessary action to remedy the situation as soon as possible.

As regards civil servants overpaid, they will pay the remainder. If necessary, they can make the repayment by installments. Contacted in relation to this situation, Sateeaved Seebaluck 'Senior Chief Executive' of the Ministry of Public Service, said that this error is due to a misreading of 'Salary Conversion Table' by some officers in charge of wages.

"Shortly after the publication of the EOA report, we organized a meeting for Supervising Officers of each department to explain the operation of the conversion table. " It has been noted that cases of overpayment of responsibility allowance/extra duty allowance have occurred following the implementation of the EOAC Report 2013 which have arisen as a result of merging of grades/review of duties and payment of increments under PRB 2013 and which have lapsed under EOAC Report 2013. Supervising Officers are hereby requested to take appropriate action and arrange for refund on a case-to-case basis", says do we in this document.

Officials who were overpaid are allowed to make the repayment in installments.
