This document already contains the identity number, essential for procedures, says Prof. Lucien Finette, director of the Mauritius Examinations Syndicate (MES). This will allow the system to run faster, in the event of a refund to a candidate. Some parents say they have encountered difficulties in obtaining the document in the same day. They had to return the next day, while in other localities, the documents were issued in minutes.
This year, the exam fees are on the rise. It will cost Rs 1,027 per subject for SC and Rs 2090 for the HSC. Those who chose seven subjects in SC will cost Rs 8,495, against Rs 8,144 in 2011. Those who opted to five subjects will pay Rs 6,441, against Rs 6,186 in 2011. At the HSC, candidates who take four subjects will have to pay Rs 9,666 against Rs 9,475 in 2011. The Director of MES states that the amount annually undergoes an increase, but the British university took into consideration the number of candidates for these examinations. Once the fee collected, college officials should go to MY, during the last week of April or first week of May, as scheduled, to make payments.
Furthermore, candidates who participated in the exams 2011 will receive their certificates in the coming weeks.
