The latter, an Indian politician is a member of Parliament of India. He is an elected official of the district of Kadapa and YSR Congress leader. He was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), on May 27 and was remanded in custody until June 11. The CBI alleged that Jagan Mohan Reddy has baffled dirty money, which is 1.2 billion Indian rupees via Mauritius and Luxembourg in his companies, Sandur Power Company and Jagathi Publications. The CBI investigation revealed that Jagan Mohan Reddy conspired with Vijay Sai Reddy the listener to do this.
Describing the arrest as illegal, Jagan Mohan Reddy claimed he had been arrested just for being away from the campaign on the sidelines of the election to be held next month. He should have run for office for the YSR Congress party of his late father.
This case also goes back to when his father was Chief Minister. It was alleged that Jagan Mohan Reddy was using pressure on firms to invest in its businesses, in exchange for various favors from the government of his father. In August 2011, the High Court of Andhra Pradesh has ordered a thorough investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation into the allegations, in the wake of two preliminary reports submitted by the CBI on petitions filed by the Minister Shankar Rao and Chief Telugu Desam party, Yerran Naidu, and affidavits sworn by some investors.
The investigations and led to the arrest of Jagan Mohan Reddy, but also that of a former minister, Mopidevi Venkataramna, who was arrested three days before Reddy. Note that Mopidevi Venkataramna, was taken ill, when questioned on Monday.
This case is obviously a stir in India. The mother of Jagan Mohan Reddy, active in politics, Vijayamma Reddy, took the reins of the party and campaigned for bail for his son.
