It is the belief of some private sector representatives. They expect a revaluation of the rates which will reduce the gap between workers 'skills and employers' criteria.
"In launching this plan, several years ago, we refund twice the value of training to employers. It was amazing and it encouraged employers to train their employees. Today, we receive less that once the value of training. This is very bad because it will, I believe, contrary to what we want. I hope our leaders will think to give value to the only resource of the country. I request the refund to be considered differently, but I do not know the perfect formula, "says Eddy Yeung, director of Sky Textile and member of the Board of the HRDC.
"If the state had the means, we would have increased this rate, "retorted the Minister of Education and Human Resources, Vasant Kumar Bunwaree. This is not a revaluation against the reimbursement rate training. "Employers want help and therefore have more refunds. This must be done under discussion but this does not just business, ministry and HRDC is much broader. Moreover, there is too much dispersion of resources in training programs of the government, "added the Minister.
Under the refund program HRDC formations, the latter may also contribute up to 50% of the allowances paid Rs 6000 to job seekers in training. Eddy Yeung and Vasant Kumar Bunwaree spoke on Thursday at straws, at a workshop of HRDC on the gap between the skills of job seekers and hiring criteria of employers in manufacturing and export. Nothing in this sector, according to the Ministry of Education and Human Resources and HRDC, the rate of workers with tertiary education increased from 3% in 2001 to 5% in 2011.
Moreover, the rate of the labour force working in this industry increased from 29.3% in 1999 to 16.1% in 2011.
In the manufacturing sector, trades as qualified in fiberglass materials, machine operator, labourer or welding are the most sought. In the field of export, it is mostly machine operators, embroiderers, controllers, directors of sales and marketing that are most desired.
