This training center, also known as ICT Centre of Excellence will begin at the end of November 2012 its first online course. It is a formation of "Software Developer Certification." Friday morning Graduate (Degree and Diploma holders) may register teams meeting the ICT Centre of Excellence in the conference room of the Cyber Tower.
The training program is called Accenture Open Education. As its name suggests, it is established by the ICT Academy in collaboration with Accenture Sevices (Mauritius) Ltd and the Open University of Mauritius (UoM). Accenture Sevices (Mauritius) Ltd is the local branch of the multinational information technology (IT) and outsourcing (BPO) and Accenture.
Good news for interested students, these courses whose specificities are known on Friday, are free. Moreover, because they will be provided online, space is unlimited but the ICT Academy hopes to recruit between 100 and 200 students for the first course. Note that the emphasis is on the graduates or students UoM who have not yet found a job. Those not taking advantage of Internet connection at home can take part in the premises of the academy.
The ICT Centre of Excellence will also, in two weeks, courses in collaboration with Microsoft and Oracle, two global giants of the computer.
These courses will also be free and mainly for people looking for a job. Criteria required to enroll are not yet made public. Finally, ICT Academy is in talks with another firm of IT and outsourcing to organize training, it is Infosys BPO.
