> Many SMEs are closing the door. What is your reading of the situation?
The majority of SMEs that are closing are not registered at SMEDA. When these small businesses face difficulties, it is important that they come to us. We are here to give their support for revitalization. We can, for example, give them a helping hand by the intermediary with financial institutions, and in particular from the DBM (Development Bank of Mauritius) to a rescheduling of their loans. I often write personally to the DBM. But we must remember that we can not support companies whose turnover does not exceed Rs 50 million.
> Are you seeing an increase in SMEs in difficulty knocking on the door of the SMEDA for support?
I see many SMEs in difficulty coming to the SMEDA, including financial advice. We help them to restructure their loans. However, I do not see an increase in the number of SMEs in difficulty, their number is stable. I also appeal to these companies to come see us at the SMEDA. Those with a turnover of more than Rs 50 million business can turn to Enterprise Mauritius, among others. We deal in partnership with other MBGS (Mauritius Business Growth Scheme).
> When it comes to SMEs, we often think of small artisans and producers of pickles, but there is not it. You see more entrepreneurs turn to the ICT sector, for example?
It actually sees more and more SMEs in Tic. Moreover, the computer is also important for all businesses, regardless of their industry. I, for example, in the case of a head Mauritian woman entrepreneur who has successfully launched in the business of software and hardware in Rwanda. There are many business opportunities in this sector in Rwanda for Mauritian entrepreneurs, whether in trade or Tic products in IT consulting.
>Small entrepreneurs are still waiting for the launch of the label "Made in Mauritius, Made with Care." What is this?

I remind you that according to the 2013 budget, this label must be created this year. The file is ready and has been approved by the Department of Enterprise, Business and cooperatives.
