ECT seems to be in a difficult situation. According to informed sources, the UGC in India has already expressed its explanations to the TEC on the five universities that would not be allowed to operate outside of India.
The UGC would have maintained its position reaffirming that these five universities, namely the Eastern Institute for Integrated Learning Management (EIILM), Intraconsult, Mauras, the Arya Sabha and JSS Academy, are not recognized in India.
In a Public Notice dated 23 June, the UGC had informed the authorities of Mauritius there are five universities that are not allowed to operate in Mauritius. TEC had initiated an investigation to find out what it is.
The first part of this survey was to inquire of the five private universities. Various directors and had tried to prove that they were indeed in good standing with the law. But TEC decided to seek the UGC to get more details on the matter. This response is crucial for TEC regarding the procedure. What some people think that the answer is already acquired.
