Of 26,100 touchpads, 20,700 will go to students in Form V - as they had been promised in 2013 - 5400 and their teachers. Some 1,761 educational materials were developed in 11 different materials by the Mauritius Institute of Education (MIE).

Mauritius Telecom was awarded the contract to provide the touch pads for the first group of beneficiaries. The production of these tablets was completed January 9, 2014 in China and tablets arrived in Mauritius on January 15th. They were then made in four educational areas for distribution in the state colleges and the office of the Private Secondary School Association (PSSA) that will take care of distribution in private colleges. Also, the department and the MIE led training for teachers involved in this distribution in January.
