In the fourth quarter of 2013, there were 17,500 unemployed men and 25,900 unemployed women. Approximately 16,800 of them, or 39% of the unemployed were under 25 years. Only 15,800 unemployed registered in the database of the Employment Service. The inactive population is estimated at 377,900 in the fourth quarter of 2013. This figure includes 111,000 men and 266,900 women. Men 46% are retired and 35% is students. While among women, 55% of them are housewives. Retirees and students represent 17% each.
