MBC wants to be closer to the people

Speaking at a press conference at Moka on March 25, MBC director Dan Callikan presented several television programmes produced locally by MBC journalists and freelance presenters in collaboration with the private sector and various ministries.

The MBC broadcasts some 50 programmes a week on MBC TV channels one, two and three which are subsequently retransmitted.

For the past 18 months, 25 local programmes were aired every week.

The MBC presents two local programmes every day.

Callikan said this new initiative is an opportunity to promote the talent of Mauritians.

The MBC also wants viewers to have the option to choose from a range of available TV programmes.

‘Priorité Santé’, one of the locally produced programmes, centres round health issues.

‘Infozen’ is a documentary which targets young viewers. In the new show ‘Anou Bouzé’, the presenters go out to meet the public, who despite many difficulties demonstrate courage to overcome obstacles.
