Musical night at Citadelle

Soul of the World, inspired by the French cineaste Michael Cohen, is a spectacular cultural mosaic of art celebrating the diverse cultural heritage of Mauritius. An opening show will take place at La Citadelle on Wednesday at 7.30 pm.

For the first time on stage, artistes will give a glimpse into the reality of Mauritian culture, melding artistic expressions, dance and songs into a musical show. The spirit of tolerance and harmony that prevails among the multi-ethnic groups will be highlighted to reflect this unique aspect of the island.

Cohen, one the most respected and talented French writers has produced this masterpiece. Linley Marthe, a local multi-talented artist who lives in France has composed the music that transcends the barriers of a multi-linguistic society. He has created a soothing and harmonious blend of different musical instruments.

Menwar, Veronique Zuel Bungaroo, Mira Mohun, Gina Jean- Charles and Zul Ramiah, the golden voices of Mauritius, will be the lead singers during the show.

Gerard Sullivan is the stage director for this production. Three schools of dance will showcase their talent during the show to be held at Citadelle.
