APCA India, which owns AAPCA (Mauritius), the printers and publishers of Le Matinal and printers of The Independent Daily, has entered the entertainment business.
Its first movie ‘404’ will be releasing worldwide on May 20. Produced by its arm APCA News and Entertainment, the film has been directed by Prawal Raman and stars Nishikant Kamath, Satish Kaushik, Imaad Shah, Tisca Chopra, Mukesh Bhatt and Rajvvir Aroraa.
Imaad is the son of the legendary Indian actor Naseeruddin Shah.
This is Raman’s fifth directorial venture after ‘Gayab’, ‘Darna Mana Hai’, ‘Darna Zaroori Hai’ and ‘Zabardast’, all produced by Ram Gopal Verma.
The film tackles the subject of college ragging in a very different manner. We are introduced to Abhimanyu, who enters a medical institution, only to find that his seniors rag students. However, he soon finds out a secret of the college that was supposed to be locked forever.
Being the brave one that he is, he decides to take up the room that everyone is scared about and that is where ‘404’ begins.
Speaking before the release of the film APCA’s managing director Nikesh Sinha said, “We are indeed very excited about our foray into the entertainment business and have been delighted (by) how the film has shaped up.”
He added that film has won rave reviews from celebs like John Abraham, Anurag Kashyap, Sudhir Mishra and Imtiaz Ali.
When queried about future plans for APCA, Sinha said, “We are into the process of diversification and the company has entered the renewable energy and education sectors some time back.”
Sinha added that the APCA was executing projects worth $25 million in India and Philippines and has joined hands with world renowned companies in the business.
On the education front, Sinha said APCA has tied up with the world renowned Delhi Public School which would be coming up very shortly in Mauritius.
