Financial Literacy essay competition was launched by Bank of Mauritius

The Bank of Mauritius is launching the first edition of the Financial Literacy essay competition, open to Form IV and V students.

The aim of the competition is to create awareness among students on current ssues related to financial literacy. The theme for this edition is ‘Importance of saving for youngsters’.

The winning institution will receive a trophy and a cash prize of Rs 15,000, the runner up will get Rs 9,000 and the second runner up will get Rs 6,000.

The essays must be within 2,000 words. Participants will be grouped in teams of three. Only one entry per team will be accepted and not more than five entries from one institution.

All entries should be certified by the respective institutions. Entry forms can be downloaded from the BoM’s website. Essays together with the entry forms must be submitted by September 30 to the Financial Literacy Committee.
