Angry Birds Franchise Tops 500M Downloads In Total
Angry Birds developer Rovio announced today that its behemoth franchise has surpassed half a billion downloads across all versions and platforms.

The Angry Birds franchise consists of the original Angry Birds, sequel Angry Birds Seasons and movie tie-in Angry Birds Rio, with versions available on a variety of platforms, including iOS, Android, Windows PC and Mac.

Apart from the 500 million total downloads figure, the company also provided some other interesting numbers. Over 200,000 years of Angry Birds have been played altogether, while 300 million minutes of the game are played daily.

Users have played 266 billion levels of the game in total, while 400 billion birds have been launched and 44 billion stars have been collected.

The company had originally revealed the total number of downloads to be 350 million in September, meaning the franchise has seen over 150 million downloads in just under two months.

Mikael Hed, CEO of Rovio, said of the news, "This is a fantastic landmark achievement for us, and we’re extremely delighted to see such an incredible amount of people enjoying our games."
