The ceremony was held at the British high commissioner for Mauritius, Nick Leake’s residence in Floréal.
ATOM Travel scored the first place in the Best Sales category, followed by Silver Wings and Holiday Planners. As for the Best Sales Growth category, Naz Travel & Tours stood first followed by Travel Mart and Intourtrans in second and third place respectively.
British Airways for its part awarded the Best Premium Agency trophy to Gold Air, the Biggest Increase in Sales award went to Sky Flyers and the Gold Award in the Overall Sales category to ATOM Travel.
In his speech, Ashraf Musbally, senior Health, Travel and Product Development manager at Mauritius Union congratulated all the travel agencies present and praised them for their loyalty and dedication. He also mentioned E-commerce and I-Go Travel Insurance which was recently launched.
As for Thierry Arekion, country manager of British Airways in Mauritius, he remarked that Gatwick, England, is the new airport for Mauritius-London flights. “Clients will be delighted with the new services,” he added.
The Top Sales award was awarded to Lalini Gutty from Roi Gems Travel, Flacq. The latter is awarded for the agency having sold the highest number of tickets. Gutty won a ticket to London offered by British Airways and pocket money from Mauritius Union.
