Observatoire de L’Industrie, through a portal, provides the business community with information and data on market trends, trade flows, profile of competitors and trade agreements for better planning, forecasting, investment decisions and marketing.
Sayed-Hossen stated that his ministry has deemed it fit to come up with the Observatoire deL’Industrie, which will act as a one-stop-shop for timely and relevant business information.
“This will be used as a powerful tool to connect business operators with the economic world, helping them to better grasp the issues at stake on the regional and international scene,” said Sayed-Hossen.
Providing information about the components of Observatoire de L’Industrie, he stated that it is organised under nine specific themes. One of the themes is Global Economy, providing insights into trends of major economic variables.
“We must recognise that the state of the global economy invariably impacts an export-oriented country like Mauritius. In this context, the component on Economy Watch helps track economic evolution among global and regional countries, which will provide us with clues on where lie the challenges or the opportunities. It will then certainly lead to more informed decision-making,” said Sayed-Hossen.
Another important component of Observatoire de L’Industrie pertains to market intelligence, which is a critical factor for businesses as it helps to discover demand, which has been under served or demand that has never been exploited, in both traditional and new markets.
Observatoire de L’Industrie provides information on regional and multilateral trade agreements and also pertinent information in a concise and user-friendly manner on basic procedures when starting a business.
