ATOM Travel Launches International Student Identity Card in Mauritius

Students, teachers and youth 12 to 25 can now enjoy special discounts on air tickets as on cultural activities around the world.

Atom Travel has partnered with the student travel agency STA Travel to offer Mauritians to the International Student Identity Card (ISIC), the only internationally recognized student card accepted. With nearly 4.5 million new members each year, taking advantage of some 40,000 discounts in many shops, the ISIC is used in 120 countries.

The International Student Identity Card provides access to exclusive products, services, benefits and discounts.Initially seen as a single travel document, she became a student multifunction card.

There are three types of card, Caroline Chen, director Atom Travel: International Student Indentity Card, for students enrolled in an institution recognized by the State, the International Youth Travel Card, for all young people aged between 12 and 25 years, and the International Teacher Identity Card for teachers.

This is the first card to benefit both young people, students and businesses in Mauritius. "This card will provide an opportunity for our 60 partners to attract more students," said Caroline Chen.

Founded in 1953, the ISIC is intended to increase the international mobility by promoting travel and academic exchanges.
