Mauritius campus is managed in partnership with the Trust Ramnath Jeetah. Additional courses will be launched during the academic year 2012-13. The official launch of the new campus in Ebene Cybercity took place on March 26.
Chancellor of the University of Wolverhampton, Lord Paul of Marleybone, said that this initiative Maurice meets one of the most important trends in the field of higher education internationalization of learning and value transfer and sharing of knowledge.
Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Geoff Layer, said that after all the hard work, the campus has been developed and courses are available to students. "This is another milestone for us. Our goal is to provide a high quality education to our students whether in the UK or abroad. Many graduates have achieved success in Mauritius. We hope that this will continue, "he said.
The University has 150 graduates of Mauritius, most who have studied law. It has already launched a Mauritius Alumni Association for graduates with Maurice Yatin Varma as President. The latter, who held the position of Attorney General since 2010, graduated from the University of Wolverhampton with a LLB (Hons) Law in 1998. The University of Wolverhampton, which has established links with universities in 30 countries, more than 2500 foreign students from a hundred countries, living and studying in Wolverhampton.
