The consultant will develop a new Grid Code for Smale Scale Distributed Generation, the plan that governs the sale of electricity from small producers CEB. This procedure is necessary given the scale of the project, says Gerard Hebrard, Deputy General Manager of CEB. "The electricity generated by these larger producers will be injected into the medium voltage, while for small producers, it was injected into the low voltage," says he. The new Grid Code will determine the technical as well as sales prices for these producers.
A source close to the case to CEB states that "the Prime Minister said that if we enjoy international funding, we could reach the threshold of 35% of renewable energy. Bagasse were already 18%. " However, the CEB will be supported for this project by the World Bank and the United Nations Program for Development.
The CEB has set no limit on the maximum provision for those exceeding 50 kW. Providers less than 50 kW have them capped at 3 MW. For this category of producers, the CEB had received requests combined 1.8 MW (74 requests) for the commercial sector and 530 kW (197 applications) for residential customers. The electricity produced by these suppliers is sold between Rs and Rs 15/kWh 25/kWh, the source of energy and mass produced.
