According to the minister of Tertiary Education, Science, Research and Technology, Rajesh Jeetah in his reply to a PNQ, the director of the TEC “had retained some information at the time when he was meeting with board members, which could have led the board to make bad decisions.”
Jeetah also criticised Mohadeb for receiving an official note in 2008 from the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) regarding a conflict of interest involving the School of Dentistry, Mauras. Mohadeb had chaired a committee to evaluate the quality of courses offered when her daughter was attending the institution at that time. Jeetah said in the National Assembly: “ICAC had written to the director of the TEC to forbid him from chairing such committees.”
