Boskalis Case: Court Ordered the Continuation of Trial Against Siddick Chaddy and Prakash Maunthrooa

Respite for Siddick Chaddy and Prakash Maunthrooa in Boskalis case was short-lived. Intermediate Court decided Wednesday to keep the trial against the former of the Mauritius Ports Auhority (MPA), accused of receiving bribes, kickbacks.

The magistrate Wendy Rangan, sitting through court saw no procedural defect in the retrial Boskalis by the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP). She ordered on Wednesday 15 May, maintaining a second open in early Siddick against Chaddy, former president of the MPA Maunthrooa Prakash, former director trial.

Justice accuses the two men have got pots of wine from the Dutch firm had conducted dredging in the harbor in the 2000s.

The trial was abandoned for lack of evidence, but reopened by the DPP in the light of new evidence that emerged. The tandem-Chaddy Maunthrooa was however challenged this new trial arguing that there were procedural.
