Sony Opening Brand Shop at Mauritius Soon
The electronics giant is committed to reducing wait times and increase product availability

Sony will launch a Brand Shop in Mauritius. This is the confirmation by Hiroyasu Sugiyama, CEO Sony Middle East and Africa, the Mauritian journalists at the first conference of the Japanese company for the African continent. On occasion, the electronics giant has unveiled its expansion plans in Africa, as the primary measure, opening offices in Morocco, Ghana, Nigeria and Angola.

"Africa is probably one of the most important markets for Sony. In 2015, we hope to reach an index of sales of $ 1.4 billion in consumer electronics, including mobile phones, expanding on the continent. The numbers may seem ambitious, but our immediate goal is to identify ways in which we achieve our business objective, "said Hiroyasu Sugiyama. The opening of five regional offices in Morocco, Ghana, Nigeria and Angola is a strategy for the group to strengthen its presence on the continent, these countries are the main markets for Africa. The language in these countries is also a factor: "Africa is a vast continent and we understand that it consists of many different countries with different cultures and languages that require localized communication. We are moving rapidly to meet these requirements and preferences through tools like Sony multilingual web site in African languages predominate, including French, Portuguese, English and Arabic. We also plan to launch a Facebook page dedicated to Africa, "said Hiroyasu Sugiyama.

The Japanese company intends to use local human resources and working with new business partners with the ability to complete the Sony's growth strategy in Africa. The group has also opened 67 authorized service centers in almost all African countries by March 2014 and deploy concept stores of the brand Sony World in key markets in order to allow potential buyers to test the quality its products. The first store was launched in Ivory Coast. " Africa is growing fast and we have to grow as fast as Africa, by means of expanding our operations and employing more people… If we sit in the middle east, we cannot remote control Africa properly," suggested Hiroyasu Sugiyama, Sony Middle East and Africa is the regional headquarters for the Middle East and Africa regions. He met Mauritian journalists at the round table at the end of the 2013 Sony Conference for Africa last week in Cape Town, South Africa. The day before, held a conference exclusive distributors of Sony products in which the global ambitions of Sony and the importance given by the company to Africa on the international market have been unveiled. The gradual evolution of the business environment in Africa - its people being more "educated" and more exposed to new technologies and to the outside world - and the purchasing power up, were more decisive factors for the brand.

The Sony Xperia Z, the XPERIA Tablet or the 4K BRAVIA TVs, will also be available on the African market almost simultaneously as those launched in the international markets. This is the promise that the company is committed to reducing wait times and increase the availability of its products to African consumers.

Mauritius is not left with the upcoming opening of a Brand Shop , a unique concept of Sony shops. The date has not been set, however, said the CEO of Sony Middle East & Africa questions Mauritian journalists.
