After reverse regarding the presentation of the Criminal Appeal (Amendment) Bill , the head of government, Navin Ramgoolam met the Leader of the Opposition on Tuesday July 16. In focus: the proposed amendments raised by the opposition. Alan Ganoo confirmed to Le Express that the meeting will take place after the first part of parliamentary proceedings.

This allows the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) to appeal a verdict. Including those acquitted, may be prosecuted a second time.
