Phone: Successful Tests By The...
The three operators, Orange and Emtel MTML, were delivered during the weekend of technical tests on their respective networks in conjunction with the transition in the night of August 31 to September 1, numbering seven to eight digits for numbers of mobile phones.

The tests are conclusive, announce the operators who are more than confident that the transition to eight-digit runs flawless.Preparations margin transition to eight-digit numbers on a mobile operating system marked a milestone this weekend as a result of tests conducted on mobile networks.
Operators, interviewed this morning say that the results are conclusive. As a preventive measure, the operators had late last week informed their customers of a potential risk of interference with the wireless network during the weekend and Monday.Rajesh Rai, Chief Technical Officer at MTML argues that no problem was detected by a team of technicians. "We set up live scenarios where we switched some numbers to the eight-digit numbering and asked these people to make calls to a number MTML, and also to other mobile networks," explains he says.In addition, tests were also made on calls from abroad.
The first test was to make a call from abroad to an eight-digit number and the second was to make a call to a seven-digit number after the migration in which case an announcement is played to warn the caller that we must add the prefix before 5 mobile numbers. "We have not noticed any technical problem. All goes well outside the transition to eight digits, "says Rajesh Rai.The Orange side, "everything works 100%.
We are fully satisfied with the tests that were done, "says Davendra Utchanah, Executive Head Network & Information Systems at Orange / Mauritius Telecom operator that has the largest number of mobile phone subscribers in Mauritius. In exactly 19 days, a new numbering plan for mobile eight digits is in effect, is September 1 at midnight. With this change in numbering, mobile subscribers will have to change all the mobile numbers of their repertoire by adding the prefix "5" to existing numbers. MTML explains that changing the number in the directory must be done manually.
However, Orange will provide subscribers of three operators together, one called "Orange Care" application, which he developed in conjunction with the start-up Mobimove to automatically convert mobile numbers. This converter can be downloaded from online stores such as Apple Apps Store for free for iPhones, Google Play for Android Mobile, Blackberry App World for BlackBerry, and www.orange.mu for symbian phones from August 22.
The application automatically detects the mobile phone numbers, the changes by adding the prefix "5" while fixed numbers remain unchanged since the new numbering plan does not apply to fixed lines.Recall that in the case of calls from abroad, if a person dials the seven digit number, an announcement will inform the migration to eight digits.
This message will be issued for three months.
