To a directory of universities as "guide" for young people, taking into consideration the employment opportunities in the programs.

Finance Minister Xavier -Luc Duval said the government's intentions to fight against unemployment. Recalling the importance of training, he said working closely with the Minister of Tertiary Education Rajesh Jeetah on a " directory of universities ." The document , he said , will enable young people to learn about job opportunities in various sectors according to the academic programs .
It was Monday morning at City Hall Curepipe at the launch of the Youth Employment Program , and in the presence of political leaders, business representatives and various applicants."Young people are not prepared for the world of work. In interviews , employers noted large gaps in how they present themselves and communicate , "said Xavier -Luc Duval , Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Finance , speaking Monday morning at the launch of the Youth Employment Program ( YEP ) at city Hall Curepipe .
Why the Ministry of Finance is working on a directory of tertiary institutions , exercise performed in collaboration with the ministry.Commenting on the number of graduates struggling to find work , the Deputy Prime Minister made ??it clear that the government's initiative , once materialized , will enable young people to know what are the areas in need of human resources , and to better guide their choice of training. "Sometimes we have too many requests for limited positions," he started. Also, thanks to this book , young people can better choose their curricula . "They know what to choose universities and jobs available.

"With the budget , we will be refining the program ," he said. During his speech , the Minister of Finance reiterated the importance the government attaches to young Mauritians . And returning to the problem of unemployment , Xavier -Luc Duval argues that 23% of young people are currently unemployed. "This figure is higher than the global average ," says the leader of SIMDUT .
And support : " In government, we are challenged by the lack of employment among young people. " Turning the outline of the YEP , he said that since the establishment of the organization , some 300 people have a job . Although the target for 2013 for the recruitment of 3,000 people hired by companies , the Ministry of Finance estimates that this figure may come down, because of the positive feedback from the program. "We expect to reach the figure of 4,000 employees by the end of the year," he said. According to him, the YEP is a " great platform " to bring employers and job seekers.In a second step , Xavier -Luc Duval spoke of " good works" of the recruitment project for degree holders tertiary institutions : Service to Mauritius .
" This program is designed for holders of diplomas, taking into consideration academics who left tertiary courses with a first or second class . Only the best results are taken into consideration, " he said . Through this program , some 400 graduates have been hired.To reduce the impact of unemployment on society, the High Treasurer also announced the preparation of a training plan. This draft will be chaired by Roland Dubois , senior adviser to the Ministry of Finance and former director of the Mauritius institute of training and development .
This document takes into account the real needs of the economy so that growth through job creation in specific sectors .
