Violent Fire At Mare Chicose

Some 20 acres are currently in flames at Mare Chicose in the Grand Port. A massive fire broke out in the center of the landfill Monday, October 21 to 4:00 am. Firefighters are hard at work to try to control the damage. The circumstances of the fire are, at present, unknown.
Thick columns of toxic smoke began to gain the houses nearby. A massive fire broke out on Monday 21 October, around 4:00 am, at the landfill waste Mare Chicose in the Grand Port. According to firefighters on the spot, the fire spread over approximately 20 acres.
Firefighters Mahebourg, Curepipe, Quatre-Bornes and other parts are hard at work trying to control the fire. Police Hundred Gaulettes and Environment is also on site. According to a police source, there would be many tires that would exacerbate the fire.
The circumstances of the incident are unknown at present.
