In the new exams Certificate of Primary Education (CPE). The Council of Ministers announced this Friday, October 25 the entry into force of three in the immediate context of major reform measures promised by the government. These measures have, however, been approved by the group discussions on the reform of the CPE when holding a national forum.
In the short term, the Department of Education will establish a system of "resit" for students who failed in one subject but managed in the other three. This student will thus more opportunity to obtain a certificate of CPE by returning this event. There is also talk of reviewing the criteria before granting the certificate to CPE candidates who obtained E 4 in subjects but failed.
The third measure concerns the children of expatriates. Special attention will be given to candidates CPE whose parents have just moved to the island. Especially when they made an excellent performance in all subjects except languages (English or French). The Mauritius Examination Syndicate and should reconsider their case when they did not have enough time to master this language.
