Rs 4 Million Scam: Three Women and Two Men Arrested

The Criminal Investigation Division Piton have arrested five suspects in connection with the investigation into the case of scam to the detriment of the company Shiv Mahashaktishali Steels Monday. The five suspects are three women and two men all the inhabitants of Goodlands.

They appeared in court Mapu for their indictment on Monday. The police had objected to their release they were kept in police custody.

Scrap worth Rs 4M intended to be recycled were replaced by stones in four containers shipped to Dubai and the port of Busan, South Korea. It was during the landing of two containers in Busan and Dubai as the deception was discovered.

The Mauritian branch was then informed of this scam. Therefore a complaint had been recorded at the police station Mapu October 16. The leaders of this company, had told the police that they had stored in four containers a Goodlands their suppliers to be filled with used horseshoes.
