Job: Finding New Opportunities for Young People
Unemployment among young people and women is a matter of concern to the government, as evidenced by the 2014 budget. Measures have been proposed with the aim to reduce the unemployment rate among the different population groups.

With new economic sectors that will soon come into operation, career opportunities open to young people. According to Roland Dubois, Advisor to the Minister of Finance and also responsible for the project Youth Employment Programme (YEP) YEP's mission is to develop targeted courses for young people who want a career in the film industry in particular.

"The film industry once started, can create many jobs for young people. But for this industry to be launched, we must educate young people in certain occupations such as cameramen, electricians, console operators, editors and sound technicians. We will meet soon to establish a strategy of attack, "said Roland Dubois.

In addition to the opportunities in the film industry, the advisor to the Minister of Finance also mentioned the work that the Africa Centre of Excellence. This placement assistance for young technicians, graduates and professionals in Africa. "This is a revolutionary step, because there is a large demand for technicians and professionals to better respond to the growing development of the African economy," he said.

Roland Dubois also added that it is necessary to enhance the opportunities that exist in Africa. Thus, to achieve this, a framework is in place to help young professionals to work on the African continent. "Everything goes through the recognition of our diplomas by the governments of various African countries where they would be called upon to perform. A mechanism will be established to facilitate the development of this framework, "said the head of the YEP.

In addition, Roland Dubois said a report will be published on each six months to enable young people to know the sectors that recruit. According to him, there are too many young people tend to choose the same channels as their classmates. Thus, they find themselves in difficulty to find a job.

"It is very important to investigate trends in employment. The results will be used to help young people to better choose their courses of study and also allow institutions to offer programs tailored training, "he argued.

On the other hand, Roland Dubois stressed that training through learning will be extended to higher levels of training, leading to a degree depending on the application. At the same time, an allowance will be offered to apprentices to make the training more interesting.

In addition, the budget focuses on the training of women through the project "Back to Work" which Rs 100 million has been invested by the government. This project focuses on women who have worked and who have unfortunately lost their jobs or those who have left their jobs because of family reasons.

According to statistics, 13% of women do not have a job today against 5.3% of men.

"A training program for women in fifteen trades is proposed so that they can find a job. All women are targeted, regardless of their age. Training in the areas of safety, seafood, the 'carers', among others will be offered, "said Roland Dubois.
