CEB Invests Rs 6.2 Billion
Five projects at a cost of Rs 6.2 billion. The Central Electricity Board (CEB) does not skimp on the means for the production and supply of electricity. In fact, the electricity consumption is increasing and according to the forecasts of the CEB, a hint of 461 megawatt (MW) would be achieved this year.

Investments to the tune of Rs 3.2 billion, concern the design of 4x15 MW Power Plant St. Louis. If all goes as planned, the turbine oil with a total capacity of 60 MW are operational and connected to the national network of CEB in late 2015.

This organization also plans to invest around Rs 2 billion in the expansion and enhancement of its electricity network across the country. Work will be performed by area. Another project in the pipeline is the construction of a heavy oil reservoir in Fort William, at a cost of Rs 470 million. The proposed installation of four turbines of 257 kWh Bigara also on the agenda. Investments are estimated at over Rs 450 M. The project will generate about 2.5 GW. The CEB also intends to invest the sum of Rs 600 million for work on enhancement of existing plants.

Furthermore, the democratization policy implemented by the government that the private is also involved in energy production. Six projects at a cost of Rs 5.1 billion, are underway. These are wind farm Curepipe, wind farm Plaine des Roches, the solar farm Sarako, Harel Mallac of Synnove and Astonfield. Total production is 164 MW.
