SC and HSC Examination Fees: More Expensive
Parents whose children take part in examinations School Certificate (SC) and Higher School Certificate (HSC) this year will put their hands in the pocket. These exams will cost Rs 700 to Rs 1,000 more, which represents an increase of 5%.

The Director of Mauritius Examinations Syndicate , Lucien Finette says that "every year the price rates of examinations varies. That's up quite normal " . He added that "the Mauritian Rupee was devalued against the pound." But, he says, "despite this increase, Mauritius continues to receive preferential unlike other countries tariff".

Students who take part in six subjects for the SC shall pay the sum of Rs 8,757 against Rs 8,064 in 2013. Those who take part in seven subjects disburse Rs 9,964 against Rs 9,174 last year. 

Regarding the HSC, they will have to pay Rs 12,349 against Rs 11,357 for three core subjects and one subsidiary subject General Paper (GP). 

Students in private schools, themselves, know the new rate after June.
