Via PhoneArena, it looks like AnTuTu’s Weibo account has posted specs for the version of the Galaxy S7 that runs on the Exynos 8890 processor and they contain no major surprises.
So in addition to the aforementioned Exynos 8890 chipset, what can we expect from the Galaxy S7? According to AnTuTu, the device features a 5.1-inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera, 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, although we don’t know if this is the baseline storage for the device.
If these specs sound familiar, that’s because they’re pretty much the same specs that leaked out for the Samsung Galaxy S7 edge earlier this month. If you need a refresher, an AnTuTu benchmark revealed that the S7 edge will feature a 5.1-inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, Adreno 530 graphics, a 12-megapixel rear-facing camera, and 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
These specs are about what we expect from flagship Android phones in 2016, although some people might gripe that the Galaxy S7 will feature a camera with a lower megapixel count than last year’s Galaxy S6. All the same, we’ve seen that a 12-megapixel camera is more than capable of taking first-rate pictures, so this shouldn’t be too much of an issue.
Samsung is expected to unveil its lineup of Galaxy S7 devices next month at Mobile World Congress.
