A training programme for some 50 engineers and contractors from the public and private sectors will be organised at the seat of the Mauritius Institute of Training and Development (MITD) House in Phoenix from August 10 to 16.
This joint initiative of the Ministry of Energy and Public Utilities and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) aims at training energy auditors to perform energy audits of residential and non-residential buildings.
The minister of Energy and Public Utilities, Rashid Beebeejaun, will inaugurate the workshop on Wednesday.
The UNDP has solicited the expertise of the Building Research Establishment, a British consulting firm, to establish an energy audit management scheme, in order to develop energy audit manual and support mechanism.
