Mauritius Examinations Syndicate (MES) director professor Lucien Finette said, “Everything is going on very well and we are ready for Tuesday.”
In Mauritius, 13,205 boys and 11,762 girls will take part in the exams while in Rodrigues, there will be 589 boys and 522 girls. The number of private candidates amounts to 2,628. A total of 333 examination centres with 1,595 classrooms have been identified including 318 from Mauritius and 15 from Rodrigues.
According to Finette, 5,718 people, including supervisors, assistant supervisors and invigilators have been mobilised for the CPE exams.
“Some 200 differently-abled students will also sit for the examinations. We also received applications from 10 candidates from Agalega and 10 from prisons,” added Finette.
Last minute revision and stress is common among students. Poorvahdevi Ramdeen, a CPE student from Cottage government school, even had tuitions on the eve of the exam day.
