The training focuses on the methodology of diffusion ten personal entrepreneurial skills, to influence the way entrepreneurs run their businesses.
Research opportunities, perseverance, efficiency and quality, persuasion, taking calculated risks, planning and systematic monitoring, research information, partnership and performance commitments, these are, among others, personal entrepreneurial skills highly recommended. By organizing this seminar in partnership with Empretec Mauritius, the SMEDA seeks to equip participants with these qualities.
The methodology of this training was developed by Harvard University and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). According Indranee Seebun, Director of SMEDA, this method of training is one of the best in entrepreneurship. "The workshop allows entrepreneurs to translate their ideas into action and help change their attitudes while enhancing their entrepreneurial skills. Participants will have the opportunity to practice their personal entrepreneurial skills and develop more, "she says.
The courses will be taught by accredited international trainers who have received advanced training and are active in community affairs. Ugandan trainer, James Bulenzibuto, will move to form the first group of participants.
During training sessions, many simulations, case studies and role plays will be offered to candidates to enable them to practice behaviors successful entrepreneurs. Emphasis explains the SMEDA will be placed on learning through practice and personal transformation entrepreneurs. This initiative aims to promote the development of SMEs through training in entrepreneurship and technical assistance. At the national level, the program aims to strengthen the institutional capacity, create jobs and increase investment while strengthening linkages between SMEs and large companies.
"Empretecos"
At the end of this workshop, entrepreneurs, now called "empretecos" return to their business dealings with, say "a more objective and critical perception of their personal performance and entrepreneurial," says the SMEDA. "Empretec" is an integrated development of entrepreneurial skills, developed by UNCTAD to develop services to enhance the behavior and performance of the contractor.
This program aims to strengthen the capacity of major producers and international competitiveness to promote the development, eradicate poverty and to ensure, on a basis of equality, participation of developing countries in the global economy . To date, 300,000 "empretecos" were trained in Mauritius and some 24 training courses have been conducted since 2000.
