SMEs: Open Days at SMEDA

The objective is to better inform small and medium enterprises (SMEs) measures and facilities available to them.

This information campaign will include a presentation on the existing facilities and the new budgetary measures announced in Budget 2013. A workshop on public procurement will also be held Friday for SMEs. This meeting will allow them to better master the rules governing public procurement. On the same day of business meetings with the Association of hoteliers and restaurateurs of Mauritius (AHRIM) and other hotels are planned exhibition center SMEDA.

Moreover, during these three days, the public will have access to incubators of SMEDA, training centers and EMS Resource and Technology Centre. These incubators were set up to provide training to small and medium entrepreneurs and stimulate their creative talents and develop their skills. As the EMS Resource and Technology Centre, it offers support to SMEs who are looking for information on the latest technological innovations, thus contributing to the value of their business.

In addition, during these open houses, entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to have an email address, to register with the SMEDA Desk Procurement and apply for training courses. Several organizations to support SMEs, including banks, the Agricultural Research and Extension Unit, the Mauritius Business Growth Scheme, Enterprise Mauritius and the National Women Entrepreneur Council will be present.

These open days are designed to create a platform through which SMEs can receive information individually. "Entrepreneurs will be well aware of the facilities available to them as well as the necessary information to help them run their business effectively. Indeed, many entrepreneurs are not familiar with the budget measures and other facilities available to them, ".
