Strike the NTC: Towards a Crisis?

Forced by the strike of workers of the National Transport Corporation (NTC) between the Minister of Transport, Anil Bachoo, and the Labour Shakeel Mohamed, the management of the public transport operator and unions meeting on Wednesday after afternoon, helped settle the situation. Three major decisions were made while the Minister Bachoo should lead a press conference in a few minutes.

According to the present union, the Minister Bachoo decided to immediately re-assigned to the NTC exclusive service to the line 141, Port Louis - Henrietta. Other routes will be reallocated discussions between the parties and the National Transport Authority . The third decision relates to wages. Negotiations will start Monday 1 st July to September hours NTC headquarters in Vacoas.

" The meeting was hot. Minister Mohamed was critical of the leadership of the NTC as the Minister explained why Bachoo lines served by the NTC were allocated to individual operators.We have established structures for negotiations between employees on the leadership of the NTC , "said, Reaz Chuttoo, one of the union negotiators.

Does this mean if the strike is lifted? The union Reaz Chuttoo said he will leave it up to the employees to make the decision this afternoon.
