To develop various speaking skills including face-to-face communication skills but the focus is on public speaking skills so badly needed in various circumstances and even in university courses. The video will focus on methods of delivering an effective public speech: students learn how to speak in front of many people and how to overcome fear and nervousness, how to use effective body language skills, how to prepare and how to use PowerPoint presentations
Programme objectives are to:
- Acquire public presentation skills which are needed in academic environment by practising methods and techniques used in the forms of oral discourse.
Outcomes:
On watching the videos students are expected to
- employ critical analysis and creative thinking in speaking and listening;
- apply reasonable and responsible judgment to what is said and how it is said;
- develop proficiency in the use of thought, language, and voice;
- choose topics for speeches as well as for other forms of oral communication;
- conduct Internet and library research in order to find and prepare an effective public speech;
- design outlines of oral presentations;
- prepare and give PowerPoint presentations;
- develop controlled, skilful, expressive, and meaningful use of the body in speaking;
- use effectively English language in oral communication;
- evaluate objectively his or her own performance and that of others.
