The law on unfair dismissal requires employers to act reasonably when dealing with disciplinary issues. What is classed as reasonable behaviour will depend on the circumstances of each case, and is ultimately a matter for employment tribunals to decide. Good employment relations practices can prevent many discipline and grievance problems arising.

Organisations are also more likely to have positive employment relationships if they make efforts to gain their employees’ commitment. This one day workshop will provide comprehensive guidance on employment issues. The seminar will be conducted by Ms H.S.Bunjun who is a qualified practicing barrister.

The main topics to be developed in the workshop:

  • Employment Rights Act 2008
  • Discipline - Keys to handling discipline in the workplace
  • Grievances - Keys to handling grievances in the workplace
  • Dealing with absence
  • Disciplinary rules for small Organisations
  • Sample Disciplinary and Grievance procedures

The fees for attending each workshop is given in the registration form and is inclusive of mid-day lunch, morning and afternoon refreshments and comprehensive course materials. Full details including the venue and profile of participants are given in this registration form.

Participants will receive an attendance certificate for attending the above MQA approved seminar.
