Construction work at the roundabout of Riche Terre is in process

Construction work is currently underway at the roundabout of Riche Terre. This is the preliminary stage of the work being done to enlarge the roundabout.
It is following a study commissioned by the Road Development Authority with the firm Luxconsult Ltd that the flyover will be built to deal with road traffic that is expected to rise in the area in a couple of years, especially with the operation of the industrial mega project Jin Fei in 2015.
The feasibility study states that once the industrial zone of Jin Fei starts, an increase in traffic will become unavoidable.
The Luxconsult report states, “The Jin Fei project will be a long term development and traffic will increase as the zone is developed and the related economic activities gain momentum. But it is only in 2015 that noticeable traffic will be generated by Jin Fei and traffic demand will occur around the year 2020.”
The first phase of Jin Fei will be completed in 2012 and the second in 2015. The second phase of 141 hectares will be delivered in 2015.
