CAP photo exhibition held in Rodrigues

Le Cercle des Artistes Photographes (CAP) of Mauritius have held a photo exhibition in Rodrigues, the second time they have visited the island.

Some 15 CAP members showed their works at the Public Library in Port Mathurin. Rajenee Panchoo, a photographer of the Yukondale Group (which publishes NEWSNOW), took part in the event.

A Rodrigues : première unité de dessalement solaire de l’océan Indien lancée

Rodrigues s’est encore rapprochée de son objectif de devenir une île écologique avec l’inauguration d’une unité de dessalement solaire à Caverne Bouteille. Dans le cadre du programme ENERGIES, financé par l’Union européenne et mis en œuvre par la Commission de l’océan Indien, la première unité de ce genre de l’océan Indien a été inaugurée par le Chef Commissaire de Rodrigues, Serge Clair.

Vols annulés vers Rodrigues: «On nous a traités comme du bétail»…

Ils ne savent plus où aller. Après l’épisode de la reprogrammation des vols qui ont finalement été annulés, dans la soirée d’hier lundi 15 janvier, la compagnie d’aviation d’Air Mauritius a réussi à caser les étrangers et les Rodriguais à l’hôtel Le Suffren, à Port Louis. Ils sont une quarantaine à être concernés.

Bénévolat: une Law Clinic bientôt lancée à Rodrigues

Une première. Dix membres du barreau ont répondu à l’appel du président du Bar Council, Me Jacques Tsang Mang Kin. Un appel qui consistait à se rendre à Rodrigues pour venir en aide aux Rodriguais et, par la même occasion, rencontrer la magistrate Shefali Ganoo, ainsi que le chef commissaire de Rodrigues, Serge Clair.
