Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority recently hosted the 11th edition of the most popular golf tournament in India, the Mercedes Benz Golf Tournament 2011. The recent initiative to attract high-net worth travelers was the finale of the Indian chapter of Mercedes golf trophy that was held at the prestigious Le-Touessrok Golf Course. This big group featured Indian corporate jetsetters and owners of Mercedes who were happy to tee-off and spend time in Mauritius appreciating the leisurely relaxation, hospitality and challenging world class golf course.
The golf course at Le Touessrok is one of the popular golf resorts in Mauritius. A golf course that can boast its own island - all to itself - is fairly unique. It is built on at Ile Aux Cerfs island and is just a seven minute ride from the mainland. Famous German Golf star, Bernhard Langer, designed this golf course. The par 72, 18 hole course plays across water on nearly every hole and the back nine brings the Indian ocean into play nearly every shot.
Elaborating on Mauritius Tourism initiatives in India market, Mr Rajeev Nangia, Associate Director, Mauritius Tourism c/o TRAC Representations highlighted, "We are looking to profile the Mauritius among the right set of travelers, who want niche experience and leisurely relaxation while on international vacations. Our destination marketing campaigns are designed to reach out to this target segment of travelers where experiences, top hospitality and indulgences are prime factors guiding the holiday preferences.
