The Mauritius Union Assurance (MUA) officially opened its new branch at Méridien Barbarons in Mahé, Seychelles.
Several personalities such as the governor of the Central Bank of Seychelles, Pierre Laporte , the chairman of the board of administration of MUA, Dominique Galéa and the chief executive officer (CEO) of the group, Krish Lutchmeenarraidoo were present for the occasion.
In his speech, the guest of honour, Pierre Laporte welcomed MUA Seychelles and stressed that it constitutes an important step in the development of insurance activities in the country. The governor of the Central Bank of Seychelles also spoke on the strong presence of the group in the insurance sector.
He said the new office will bring more competition in the field of insurance in Seychelles. The CEO of MUA, Lutchmeenarraidoo, on his part spoke on the acquisition of the insurance company La Prudence Mauricienne by the group which led to the opening of a new branch in Seychelles.
He also reiterated the wish of MUA Seychelles to present innovative and efficient products. He added, “MUA’s aim is to strengthen its relations among the business community .”
The chairman of MUA, Galéa, spoke on the different products and services offered by MUA. He said, “We are not only offering insurance but also the management of pension funds, unit trusts and services of stock at the stock exchange.”
He also spoke on their rich history , which was set up in 1948. He added that the company’s assets reached Rs 8.3 billion this year and that group wants to develop a strong relationship with Seychelles.
