The number of tourists rose but not enough to recoup all the hotels on the island
According to the latest statistical bulletin of the Bank of Mauritius, the number of tourists rose to 66,800 in August 2011 compared to 65,000 in August 2010.
Tourism revenues have also increased over the same period. Overall, these results are honest in full off-season, clearly achieved with blows of promotion and discount.
